Day #12 Tip -Take advantage of Amazon’s strengths
Each reseller has strengths and weaknesses. Using their strengths to your advantage is the best way for your ebooks to have a better chance to make an impression. For Amazon, the customer is king, so here are three tips on which you should focus:
- Participate in Amazon’s various deals
For example, if you have a book series, it could be a good idea to offer the first title of the series for free, or for 99 cents. Keep in mind that your contract may require you to offer this price at other resellers as well (and remember tip #5!).
- Use pre-orders
When you deliver your titles, you can specify a later release date. By doing so, your title will instantly be available for pre-order at Amazon. It’s a great way to enhance your visibility, not to mention that preorder sales are compiled with first-week sales, so you stand a better chance of being featured as a bestseller! - Use trending keywords
Amazon regularly creates new categories in response to search terms linked to characters, themes, and so on. Fill your keywords metadata with these categories at will.
